Elizabeth Gilbert and Her Wonderful Work of Art!

I cannot even express my excitement about seeing Elizabeth Gilbert speak this evening! She will be speaking (for free!!) at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, MD.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of one of my favorite coming-of-age books titled, Eat, Pray, Love. I think if you’re a woman, you’ve probably either read or heard about this book that tells an existential tale of one womans’ heartbreak, wanderlust, wonderment at the world and resulting self actualization.

For me, as for so many others, reading this book was life-changing. Not only did the book define the type of writing I’d like to do someday, but the entire book  seemingly met me exactly where I was 3 years ago when I read it.

Also, one of my favorite actresses, Julia Roberts, is taking Eat, Pray, Love to the big screen! If you have time, check out the movie trailer on Gilbert’s web site: http://www.elizabethgilbert.com/
